I never thought I’d like to work out…
Went for my intro visit a little over 7 weeks ago. I was anxious and almost cancelled as I’ve never done well with physical activity. David and Kim very quickly put me at ease and I went through the first session. I’ve had knee joint pain for many years due to multiple injuries. I honestly can’t remember a pain free day for about 20 years.
Within a week my pain had decreased by at least 75%. I’m now pain free most days. I’ve gotten stronger and healthier and to date have lost 17.6 pounds and 4 inches. My energy has increased and I’m finding the workouts fun. (I’ve tried several well known weight loss programs without success over the past 10 years).

When Salley first came in I could see how nervous she was. She told me that she had had 3 operations to her knees, and that walking was a real challenge, and getting out of a chair by herself was nearly impossible. We got her started on a personal training program, concentrating on getting her hips, core and upper back strong.
Fast forward 10 weeks: Went from not able to pick up a 10 lb bar to lifting 115 pounds off the floor, able to stand on one foot and play games with the other clients, and improved from being unable to do a 1/4 squat to doing 101 full squats by herself in a single session!
The last 3 months have been an awesome adventure for me. I started working out at a personal training facility in Jan (Totally New You). They, especially David, have helped me learn to walk without pain and have helped me strengthen my body to levels I didn’t think possible.
Ok, maybe I won’t be ready for an ironman competition or a mud run any time soon but I know the yard work will be easier this summer. And caring for mom has been much easier the past month and I know it will continue to be that way.
This is the reason we do what we do here at our personal training studio. It is such a blessing for me to be able to help people get out of pain and start enjoying life again. I’m grateful for the opportunity!
